Welcome to Brooks!!
The Town of Brooks was incorporated on December 10, 1816 and was named in honor of Massachusetts Governor John Brooks - "a man of unassuming manner and great political integrity, who had distinguished himself as an officer in the Revolution. Brooks became a hub of business activity, first with saw mills and grist mills and later with the train, a canning factory, and several businesses. The town's residents were noted for their sturdy character, rugged honesty, loyalty to duty, and devotion to the best interests of the town." *
