Brooks Transfer Station

Brooks provides a service to its residents  to allow disposal of household waste at its Transfer Station.  A sticker must be obtained at the town office to be mounted on your automobile to assure that you are a resident of Brooks.  Everyone that uses the Brooks transfer station must recycle according to the rules specified in the notice provided in the sidebar to the right. 

Effective January 1, 2015 Brooks will utilize "single stream" or "zero sort" recycling. Recyclable material must be clean but no longer separated into collections of plastic, cardboard,glass, etc. (Household trash continues to be placed in the town's 10 dumpsters).

Brooks Transfer Station accepts: 

• Household trash

• Various metal including stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, pots & pans 

• Florescent light bulbs (not broken)

• Clean glass, plastic, cardboard, aluminum cans

• Television sets, computer monitors

Brooks Transfer Station does not accept:

• Building materials or construction debris

• Leaf and yard waste

• Oil or chemical products

• Paint

• Batteries

• Wood ashes

• Household hazardous waste
