Mission Statement:

We will serve this community to the best of our abilities and training. The department responds to a variety of fire related calls as well as vehicle accidents, water rescue,EMS assistance and natural disasters. The department’s mission is to protect and save life and property as well as provide mutual aid to our surrounding neighbors in other communities through fire suppression and other emergency services, pre-fire planning, and public education.

The remaining members consist of a few dedicated volunteers who respond to emergencies.

The Brooks Fire Department participated in an ISO survey for insurance coverage in 2017, which resulted in a new Public Protection Classification rating of 8B/10 for our town. This new rating is effective as of May 1, 2018. Please contact your home or business insurance provider, as this new classification may reduce your rate.

The general public is invited to attend the Brooks Fire Department business meetings. These meetings are held on the 1st Monday of every month, except when that Monday is a holiday. Then the meeting is on the following Monday. In addition, there are training meetings on every 3rd Monday of the month.

The Brooks Fire Department follows the guidance and requirements of the state of Maine. There is participation with training programs of the Waldo County Firefighter's Association to build training schools, courses, and general instruction. There is also close involvement with the Bureau of Labor and Standards, the National Incident Management System (NIMS), the Maine Municipal Association (MMA), and the Waldo County Emergency Management Agency (WEMA).

The Brooks Fire Department is proud of it's programs and support efforts. In particular:
